Can anyone tell me how to treat a fugal infection on your toes with alternative medicine?

  • I went to my doctors but he can't treat me as I am pregnant.
So i need a safe treatment to use.

  • I don't know what your allowed to be around... but I used Burt's Bees deodorant to get rid of athlete's foot once.

It's basically rubbing alcohol with some smelly herbs in it. Try that or just rubbing alcohol if your allowed.

  • You can help prevent ringworm by keeping the skin clean and dry, changing socks and underwear each day, and wearing some type of sandal when in public showers or locker rooms. Notify your doctor anytime a rash associated with a fungal infection becomes crusty or oozes.
    Use Ring Guard

  • I would try applying Tea Tree oil (melaleuca oil) directly on the nail and around it.
It is astringent and has antiseptic properties.
I know tea with melaleuca in it is safe for consumption so I dont believe it would be harmful to your unborn.

  • Get yourself a large bottle of Vinegar and soak that toe, with the fungal infection in a bowl of vinegar each day, for three times a day. The toe nail grows slowly and the fungal infection cannot grow with the vinegar. But your nail can, be sure and do not miss a day or that days growth may have the infection, it takes about four month for the nail to grow out and you to have a healthy nail. Now when you shower and wash the vinegar off, be sure and take a cotton ball and wipe more vinegar on.

  • Fungal is tough- it can take a while. If you can find it, get some Monphytol. It's a liquid in a small bottle that you just brush on to the area, It works extremely well. You could try Oil of Oregano (not stuuf you put on food-) it's sold in good health shops, and it has much better antifungal/bacterial properties than Tea Tree.

  • Tea Tree essential oil will do the job.
    Apply a drop neat.
Also soaking your feet in warm water & vinegar works. 3 parts water 1 part vin + a few drops of Tea Tree.

  • I would steer clear of any "natural" treatment as well - if its antifungal, it probably will have the same adverse effect as the pharmacological drugs.

EDIT: I'd be careful if you plan to use tea tree oil:

"Safety in young children, pregnant or nursing women, or those with severe liver or kidney disease has not been established."
