What's the best cure for constipation?

  • Ok so here's my embarrasing little story. I have the strong urgency to go to the bathroom but when I do it won't pass. It's like a rock is stuck in my rectum no matter how much I strain(I know straining is bad but I'm desparate) it won't budge. It's annoying and I can't sleep like this knowing that I have to go but it's stuck. Its an annoying feeling you know? lol Do you think a fleet enema would help break it up?

  • There are many quick solutions to constipation ranging from an enema (though in your particular case a fleet enema may not be enough) to ingesting known laxatives like epsom salt. If you're going to go the enema route, you may have to do something along the lines of a "colon flush", because if you are backed up really bad you're going to need at least 32oz of fluid to go in and break things up. You can do one at home using a water bottle (2 quart capacity) enema/douche product that is readily available at your local pharmacy for $20 or less. These red water bottles typically come with a 6' hose, so you can use gravity to get the water into your colon/intestines. I would recommend using warm water and adding 4oz of black coffee. The tannic acids in the coffee will really get your intestines going. Plug in and do your best to empty the entire contents of the water bottle before you leap for the toilet. If you have to stop and relieve yourself, fill the water bottle full and try again. It's important to empty the entire water bottle into the intestines, otherwise you won't clear the entire large intestinal tract.

Chronic constipation is a serious health issue that should not be neglected. Fecal matter that should have exited the body in a timely manner will become toxic to the body the longer it remains inside. In the long run, this will tax your body's immune system, making you more vulnerable to colds and allergies. And potentially more embarrassing, constant straining to eliminate dry hard stools could lead to hemorrhoids.

If your stools are that hard, you may not be getting enough water for your body. If you are not drinking at least half your body weight in ounces of water daily (min 64oz), then please do your best to increase your water intake. If you are on top of your water intake, then the next place to look is your gallbladder. Bile is your body's natural lubricant for the stools. If the bile is thick, it won't flow into the small intestines well. Betaine is a natural bile thinner and is readily available in beets, particularly the beet leaf. I recommend juicing the beet and beet leaf as it will be difficult to eat enough beets everyday to have an impact. If you want convenience, get A-F Betafood from Standard Process. It's essentially concentrated beet and beet leaf in a tablet. I would also add a tablespoon of olive oil or some other healthy fat to every meal as this will stimulate your gallbladder to contract and hopefully push more bile into your intestines.

If the above dietary suggestions do not fully resolve your constipation issues, then perhaps you will need to add herbs to the mix. Colax, which is a MediHerb product from Standard Process, is a very effective product in promoting bowel movement. The formula is relatively safe, but as with any herbal product it is best if you consult with your local health practitioner before you use it.

And last, but definitely not least, acupuncture can also be effective in relieving chronic constipation.

  • 100% prune juice works for me. most any fruit juice like prunes apple and grape help but prunes are much faster. Also this may sound strange but a bowl of shredded wheat has worked for me also

  • Please open www.ShapeOfYourLife.com/Morin

  • maybe but have you tried a stool softener or laxative? Otherwise the Dr my be your next stop to get some help.

  • A simple water enema might do the trick. Even drinking enough water will sometimes help (8 glasses). Dates, prunes, raisins, and apples are gentle laxatives. Traditional Medicinals makes a tea called Smooth Move that you can get at a health food store.

  • watch russell peter videos you'll laugh your *** off

  • for sure the fleet enema will break it up. So will prunes or prune juice. But if its been a long, long, long, long. long time since you have gone you may want to go to the doctors and get a prescription for a supasotory. It will surely loosen you up... Good luck Grant M in Pennsylvania

  • Eat oatmeal. That will keep you regular. Go to herb store and get Colon Cleanser, this will help too. Fleet enemas can become habit forming, so only use every now and then, not every day. Eating Oatmeal cookies will help too.

  • A enema may have to be done but you can drink some mineral oil and that will help make things move. Sounds like you need more fiber in your diet but some yogurt every day will help keep you regular. Also be careful as in your condition you could end up with a Hemroid problem from trying to hard.

  • Ahhhhhhhhhhh my story.

Take 30 dried prunes put them in a pot covered with water and 1/3 cup sugar and let them cook on medium for 15 minutes. Remove them from the element and let them soak up more, 2 hours.
Take 4-5 and in the morning or not long after ....poo time.
It make take a few times if you baked up, but it works
